Behaviour aims to publish substantial contributions to thebiological analysis of the causation, ontogeny, function, and evolutionof behaviour of all animal species, including humans. The journalprimarily publishes reports of original research, but theoretical andother papers are also considered if they clearly promote theexperimental study of the subject.

Dating back to 1948, Behaviour has established itself as an unrivalledsource for the subject, both in major research libraries worldwide, andin the private collections of scholars and students of ethology. Eachvolume presents a collection of the most recent papers promoting theexperimental study of ethology. Physiological, genetic and ecologicalaspects are also discussed and a wealth of figures and tables areincluded.
